If you find yourself wandering through the charming streets of Nago, Okinawa, make sure to carve out some time for a stop at Calin, a delightful café that beautifully blends a cozy atmosphere with delectable offerings. Nestled at 522 Untenbaru, this little gem is not just a place to grab a bite, but a haven where creativity and quality meet.

As you step inside, you’ll be enveloped by a warm ambiance that invites you to unwind. The décor is thoughtfully curated, showcasing a blend of rustic charm and modern touches—every corner of Calin seems to tell a story. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to sip your coffee or seeking a space filled with artistic flair to inspire conversation, Calin provides a perfect backdrop.

The menu, while limited, is a testament to quality over quantity. You can indulge in their acclaimed curry rice set, which many have praised for its authenticity and budget-friendly price of just 1000 yen (approximately 8 euros). Customers rave about the flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Okinawa. For a touch of sweetness, the French toast has captured the hearts of many, though opinions vary on its execution. The coffee, however, consistently garners positive remarks for its rich and deep-roasted profile, making it an essential part of your visit.

Real customers have shared their experiences, painting a vivid picture of what awaits. For instance, Mike Crenshaw praised Calin for its thoughtful accommodation of vegan meals, highlighting dishes made with pure ingredients and cooked to perfection—he mentioned wanting to return solely for the pumpkin soup and sourdough bread. Similarly, Shane Leong expressed his admiration for the café’s unique charm, stating it might well be the reason for his return to Okinawa.

Calin isn’t just about food; it offers a unique vibe that resonates with creativity. From quaint tableware to lovely postcards, every detail enhances your overall experience. This cozy little café has become well-known in the area, with Tania St describing it as a “very original caffè restaurant,” which certainly adds to its allure.

So, whether you’re a local or a traveler looking to indulge in something special in Okinawa, Calin invites you to relax, sip, and savor. The blend of community warmth, artistic decor, and delightful offerings make it a spot you won’t want to miss!

This place surprises me very much by it's high quality of food, detailed decoration to every corner of the place, and the too-reasonable price. I must say that the curry rice set is really authentic and amazingly costs only 1000yen (8eu), the French toast is less impressive, the coffee is quite Japanese with more deep-roasted touch. It seems to specialize in donut, but their style is the smooth clean dough than crispy air-ly type. I like it quite much the peanut flavor. They also make sesame, cinnamon, and other flavors. One is less than 200yen and there are not many. It's a comfortable place with good music taste. I'd say it's one of the place not to miss if you're in the area. I found it because I was near by, otherwise I would not have come.

The french toast was amazing. Coffee was not the best. This is such a cute little cafe, sells dishes bandanas, and a bunch of other things. Love the decor and the vibe. Limited menu but as they say that means the food is good. And it did not dissapoint.

Brewed coffee had depth and rich bitterness that lingers. Cozy, quiet little spot with plenty more to offer from tablewares to postcards. So charming I will come back here next time I’m in Okinawa.. probably would be one of the reason why I want to come back to Okinawa.

I fell in love with this little unassuming cafe today. Not only did they accommodate our request for two vegan meals, but they served us one of the most delicious lunches we’ve had on the island of Okinawa. Everyone in our party loved their food, which was made from the purest ingredients and cooked to perfection. I would return here for the pumpkin soup and sourdough bread alone, but there is so much more to appreciate about this beautifully-adorned gem in the heart of Okinawa. The ambiance was perfect, the music selection was relaxing, and the staff was quick, friendly, and meticulous in their presentation. I can’t wait to see what else this little café has to offer, and I promise if you give Calin a try, you won’t be disappointed.
